Young European Physicists Meeting
 Toulouse, France, July 18-22, 2011

Main Topics:

  • Ultrafast and attosecond physics
  • Strong field physics
  • Coherent control of light-matter interactions
  • Cold matter and BEC
  • Quantum optics
  • Econophysics, science and industry and funding opportunities

YEP meetings are organized for early stage career physicists by their peers.  This year’s meeting is organized by members of FASTQUAST Marie Curie Initial training Network.  It will be held in Toulouse, France from 18th -22nd of July.  The topics of this year’s meeting include ultrafast and attosecond physics, strong field physics, coherent control of light-matter interactions, quantum optics, and quantum information.  In addition, there will be talks and panel discussions on science and industry, as well as funding and career opportunities.

During these meetings participants are given the opportunity to present and discuss their work with collegues from different Universities and Institutions. This will enable the creation of colloboration networks which are important for their future career plans. In this year's meeting, a number of people who have already taken their first steps in pursuing a career in physics have been invited. This way early stage career physicists will be benefit by hearing their experiences in career planing and obtaining funding. On the sidelines of the meeting a number of panel discussions on econophysics, the transition from science to industry and career planing will be held.
